Correct, only a visual check. I’ll give this a try next.

Update: tried this leak check and no change

    Update:

Welp, looks like it was the damn O2(A/F) sensors. My gut said to replace one of the new Amazon sensors with an OEM Denso A/F sensor. Code is gone in its respective bank now. Sadly, the other bank that still has the Amazon sensor now shows a P0158(high voltage) for sensor 2(downstream). Hopefully it’s just a byproduct of the bad upstream sensor and once I get the Denso sensor in it goes away. We’ll see.

    Called it. ;)

Lesson learned though, and now you know. No biggie, but you're wiser for it now. Swap that other one out, and the truck will be GTG.

There was a synchrous timing with your original question, and the work I had done on a friend's vehicle. Identical issue. Bought some cheapies off Amazon. ~$30 each. Codes immediately, but the bungs were plugged at least.

Influenced him to get the proper AFR sensors for his. Ordered them from Rock Auto. Swapped them in. Codes gone, and fuel mileage went back up.

Yep, it was your post that kept nagging me that it might be the Amazon sensors. Now I have to figure out why I’m weeping around the rear differential lock actuator. I bought this truck to teach my kids how to wrench but….man. Thanks for all the help here
