I just bought a replacment sleeve for the hand break, but i seem to be having a hard time removing the original rubber sleeve. Do i just need to put some ass behind it? Or is there a diffrent more effective method?

Also no i dont belive lube will be effective as i now belive that the rubber is molded on to it.

This is from a Scion FRS but I bet it’s the same. It says the rubber is held on by adhesive and to heat it up and it’ll slide off. I bet it’s the same. I’d try that before I cut it off lol.

I'd guess that's it's glued on, in addition to being molded to the handle.
I'd try heating it up with a hair dryer, or a heat gun on LOW.

Try the method I use when replacing mountain bike grips.... take a air nozzle off of a compressor and blow air between grip and handle. Works every time.

Sadly I dont have access to an air compressor. And I dont think canned air will be strong enough.

If the factory sleeve does come off, then how the hell is that new one going on? It's round on the inside and the factory handle is not round, nor does it look that big. You may need to get a razor and splice it down the center.

Are you sure it's not supposed to go over the factory handle? That shit looks pretty janky my dude.

Good point. Maybe shave down the existing handle and sleeve onto it?
