Most people who bad mouth MAACO have no first hand experience with MAACO. it’s what they have heard or read on the net. If Maaco was as bad as what some say they would be out of business. It’s like it’s the thing to do to bad mouth Maaco. I have first hand experience with Maaco as does my neighbor across the street
My 12 year old Taco had the Toyota clear coat peeling problem. Close to a year ago I had Maaco paint the truck including my camper shell. They have different levels of paint jobs. I had their best 2 stage paint job. $2500 including the camper shell. That was about a year ago and it looks fabulous and there are none of the bullshit problems mentioned in this thread. None. I did a thorough inspection as have my friends, no problems. I constantly get complements on the truck. My neighbor across the street had his Chevy painted , 2 stage process about 2 months before me. Again his looks great.
I can’t see spending big bucks on a paint job on a 10 plus year old truck. My neighbor was quoted $6000+ to do his 20 year old Chevy by another shop. There are no misses on my truck, no over spray on the frame or elsewhere, no drips etc etc. I wax my truck twice a year and all is good. Here’s a couple pics of it. It needed to be washed but still looks good. The paint job I got starts with sanding and prep. Then a sealer coat, followed by the paint and finally the clear coat. It’s warranted for 5 years.

The results are likely dependent on the package and the particular shop.

I've seen MAACO jobs that looked like a 4" brush was used, not counting the missed or oversprayed items.

Some shops have pride in their work....others....not so much.

Looks good. But there is a difference between $2500 job and a high end paint job. I’ll just name one. It appears on your truck that painted right over the rubber molding between the fender flares and body. Also I’d be willing to bet they taped off door moldings, windows, lights etc. At a high end paint shape all that would be removed. But I do agree most people don’t want to put 6-10k in paint on a 10yr old plus truck. It really come down to what each individual sees as quality work.

Wow! Looks awesome. I know 2 other people besides myself who had Maaco do their trucks and the trucks look great and the owners are happy.
