Specifically, how does one maintain the Steering and Handling if a Stock Tacoma TRD Off-road with a Winch Bumper and Winch?
    Aluminum Bumper and Synthetic Cable?
Also how does one access the controls of the Winch, such as Free Spool, with some of the Winch Bumpers like the DV-8 that tuck the Winchr down low and behind the bumper, basically concealing the Winch?
Do you open the hood and reach down through to the Winch?
Totally new to this subject so bare with me.
    Thanks in advance.

Yep, open the hood and reach down to flip the lever for free spool/engage. When I installed my 12K Harbor Freight Apex Synthetic and Hiline bumper, I could feel a little of the additional weight (142 lbs) but am now used to it, like it’s not there.

Lost a little over a quarter inch in front height, but am getting ready to install a 2” all around lift.

Alot of the bumper fabricators put handy cutouts in the bumper to access the winch controls and connections. I'd go that route if I was you. Also didn't notice any significant change in steering/braking/suspension with mine (SOS streamline/Smittybilt x20).
