i just got back from Cystal Ranch in Sabinal, TX. do NOT go there. the owner sucks, and i think we got bedbugs.

but the guys other ranch near ulvalde rocks. the ranch hand, "SCOOTER", is a real character. lots of hogs and exotics.

dont let any ranch tell you they are overrun with hogs. total BS. all the ranches have to ship in new "stock" occasionally. ask them if they recieve a shipment lately..

i have been skunked twice. it isnt as easy as it looks. both ranches are archery only.

Yea we know lake sonoma is open....just want to try something new.

Were thinking about going to tilden? Texas I think thats what the city/town is called, the guys charging $150 per day 2 hogs per day, $250 of we shoot a trophy hog/sow...we've gotten some nice pictures of some pigs under a feeder and he suppose to be sending us a video clip of some also.

We told him we would like to have atleast 2-3 opportunity to take a shot each day and he said we'll be surprise...

This would be our first time going out of state and hunting on a ranch...anything we should know or ask?

find out how the animals are handled after you shoot one. find out if they have any dogs to help track a wounded animal and if there is a fee.

the ranches i hunt are DIY as far as cooking goes. we do our own butchering.

good luck. i have come to full draw at lake sonoma a few times. and last week i put a guy in a spot and he shot and lost two.!! it was amazing. i really want a pubic hog from lake sonoma..BAD!

that out of state non-res, 5 day license is a great deal..i think it was $50ish. good for hogs, and exotics.
