I didnt pay anymore than 5100's for my TRD lift.
Some states dont allow fog lights above a certain height so legally toyota doing the install has to remove them for it to be road compliant.

Finally someone else gets it. However I would add a block and new stocks for the rear. The stock shocks and rear shocks should be the same for the best ride.

TRD Lift kit finally arrived from Passport Toyota. I was able to order the kit of 4 and the hardware without the grill for $736 shipped. Dealer is now quoting me $790 for install and alignment, still debating if I should do it to keep the warranty or save about $300 by having it done at a local reputable shop :annoyed:

do it yourself. Its pretty easy. front took me about 1.5hrs if that and the rear is pretty easy to. you dont need a spring compressor.
I did mine this way with no issues

Thanks for sharing, that does look pretty easy. However, I don’t have a garage nor the tools and I spend plenty of my time working that I rather just drop it off somewhere and get it taken care of.

How are you liking it so far?

I like it. I only did my lift on the middle perch for 1.5" front and I did a 1" block in the rear. The ride is nicer than the sport shocks as they seem to absorb bumps better and dont feel as much. The only downside is I got the needle bearing vibes right after. So I need to do the bushing eventually. I have it just not sure when I feel like doing it

I’m pretty sure they are. If I’m not mistaken, you can get the Bilstein 5100s kit for about $450 so I basically paid $280 more for the TRD labels, rear block, and warranty.

Any reason why you decided to go with the middle perch?

I did do some research before purchasing the kit and I read about the bushing, seems like it’s a common problem but I think I’m going to do the install and worry about it later if I also end up getting it.

I must be color blind, I thought 5100’s were silver and black? You can see through the shock body to see how it’s constructed?
It maybe a 5100, but a 5100 will not be covered by Toyota.
Saves on any finger pointing come warranty time.

Just preference. I didnt want 2" and I was up in the air between doing 1 or 1.5" so I went with a tad higher and went with the 1.5"

I think it was a great deal. Got it on sale Memorial weekend for $1050 plus installation. I asked the dealership to leave on my fog lights; they did. Plus the rear shocks are a larger diameter and hold more oil, translates to better cooling of the shock. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the lift and the PRO grill was a nice bonus.

Lol, it’s just the angle, I’ve still got about 6 inches above the truck. I pulled it in straight from the dealership to install the raptor lights, I was very nervous though.

Lift working out well enough so far on easier OHV routes.
