Wow, that’s crazy. I haven’t looked in a while. I need a few sheets of 3/4” A/B plywood for a project. I’m afraid to even go look at it.

 

that should come down soon , 1/2" plywood dropped $20 / sheet here in the last month

 

What length? Just looking at HD an 8 footer is $7.50 in southern AR.

Zip is $70/sheet here. Regular OSB is sub-$60.

 

I need to get some 16' 1x6s for my garage trim and can't even find them let alone cry over the cost.

 

Not much of a difference here this morning.

 

$7.12 and $46.05 at Lowes up here.

Well after doing some measuring I determined that I needed one more board, so I dimensioned it and formed a tongue on one side.
Then I cut the corners off on one of the boards to clear the legs on the bandsaw.

This is what I was going for, 1" overhang all the way around. There's 2 boards in this pic just set in place.

I will pre drill all the screw holes oversize on the shelf boards and won't use any glue to fasten them. Hopefully that will allow for some wood movement since this is solid wood and not plywood.

Today I got all the tongue and groove boards screws down I drilled all the holes in the boards oversized to allow for wood movement when the boards shrink, and they will, humidity is at 74% in the shop. That's the highest I've ever seen the humidity and its been like this for over a week, I have a basement shop.
Then I sanded the shelf down. If I had a dollar for every time I hit my head on the table top installing the boards and sanding them down, lol.

I'll seal the shelf up with a few coats of wbp.

Looks pretty cool with the first coat on. To bad you won't see most of it after I pile a bunch of jigs and stuff on it, lol.

This part of the project is almost done. Next will be the smaller table to the right of the table saw. When that's done I'll route the grooves in the outfeed table.

 

I'm going to call this first half of the outfeed table project done. Only thing left to do is rout out the miter slots in the table but I can't do that until it's set in place.

The next part of the project will be the table on the right side of the saw. It is currently cheap vinyl coated mdf. My Table will be much more solid and slick too! When this side table is done I can get the rear table in place.

I don't know a manufacturer out there that makes a decent table for their saws. You really have to make your own. Seems a shame we have to pay for a piece of crap table though. But I love the saw! So I'll deal with it.

 

Work on the saw side table has begun. I started with cutting a piece of 3/4" maple plywood to size. Already using the outfeed table for this, lol.

I salvage some oak boards from a steel shipment to use for the legs. I love free wood!

The framework will be the same for the side table as the outfeed table, 1" maple glued together, no mechanical fastners. 2 pieces are in the clamps. While I was waiting for the glue to set I milled up the oak for the legs.

Then I did some layout for the tennons.

Tennons will have a 1/2" shoulder.

Finished up the layout with the mortices.

Only using one cross brace under the table since it's much smaller. This should also leave me room for a future router lift.

That's all I had time for today. But I dig any shop time.
