Normally I would go on Friday morning and place the order and be able to pick up that afternoon. But I can go Monday and do the same thing.

That only gives me a day to work in the shop. But at least it will be here for the next off hitch.

I think it’s important to practice your craft whenever you can. That applies to pretty much any creative outlet IMO. A close friend’s son is taking welding classes at his HS and in an effort to nurture that for him I gave him a bunch of steel and asked him to build me a cube. I told him anybody could glue two pieces of metal together but if you want to be a fabricator, you have to be able to think a project through from start to finish and how all the pieces will fit together. He confidently agreed but asked that I build him one as well. I took it as an opportunity for me to practice too. Here’s my attempt:

Not perfect and some of the tighter gaps left a mound of weld higher than I’d like, but it was fun to put together.

Made a small pipe rack for a set cart for a friend at work.

Not finished yet but close. His company is called No Mercy Grip since we are “Grips”

She never batted an eye, one. Everytime I went to the well for another plasma table part purchase.

If she wants a damn Godzilla, I'm only asking how many and how big.

    Your quite welcome!

Unless you have been there to have the idea to design and to build it all comes together.

Most people could put most anything together with prints

Funny thing was, the person I built it for literally only gave me overall height, width, and length. So I kinda winged this one quite a bit lol

    Thanks man!!

Funniest thing is I had a bag of like 30 of those 1” square tube caps and I literally hadn’t done a 1” square tube project in like 2-3 years and then my dad a few weeks ago was welding something up out of some 1” square tube and he had open ends and I was like dude I have some caps that would really make that look nice if they were all capped off. So I gave him all the tube caps and then as soon as I got rid of them I get this project lol!! The guy I built it for was like “don’t worry about it, I’ll order the caps and fill the ends in”

Your lucky at least you got a hint about what the end user wanted

Most times it is can you build this and how much.

In any case it looks good.
