    Hi all,

I just joined the group but have had a 2nd gen Tacoma (2011), since 2015. I'm on vacation off roading on the beach and fishing....I have a 6-speed transmission, and my truck did fine on beach, but it was more difficult than I thought. My guess is manual transmission is tough for beach driving....any tips? Thanks.

+1 on lower air pressure. You'll float over the sand better. Gear selection is probably personal preference and situational. I prefer 4hi, but could see 4lo being nice for the extra torque.

On my 2nd gen Taco with stock size tires, 18 PSI seemed like a good spot for sand.

Thanks guys, I had each tire at >18 psi, but was in 4Lo the whole time, which caused, I am guess, difficult riding with a manual transmission--going from 1st to 2nd gear proved difficult.
