Im thinking of getting one of these little goto telescopes to take on little outings with my tacoma. I can get to good locations of the sky, maybe pair up with camping trip. Anyone do this sort of thing?

I recently treated myself to an amazing pair of binoculars and you'd be suprised how awesome they are for star gazing. Just a suggestion if you already have a pair of bino's.

I bought a small 5" Sky Watcher Dobsonian with collapsible body so we can pack on camping trips. We've only had it out a couple times so far but looks promising. I used a large Rubbermaid storage container lined with 2" memory foam to carry it in the back offroad. If we use it a bunch, I may spring for a goto telescope.

Binoculars are a great idea. Nice to hear folks are doing this. Dobsonian might be a bit to big for me. I was thinking one of those gotto celestron stubby small ones.
