HVAC display looks like crap

It’s like CSI up in here lol. Splatter pattern analysis, maybe Carmel Macchiato……possibly a nut grease DNA swab needed

If it was a TRD Sport, you could blame that nasty mess on the hood skewp.

 

Also it looks like something spilled on it. Is on the heated seat buttons also. The right looks like someone tried peeling it off or took a heat gun to dry it out and melted the adhesive. Certain detailer spray eats clear plastic as well

 

Like a fine whine. Nut grease improves with age.

 

This happened to me, but instead I had sand and dirt get behind the plastic. Its not a perfect seal and will get crud behind it, looks like you spilled liquid. I'm pretty sure you can just pop it off carefully, clean it, put it back on.

 

I'm in the auto industry and we are seeing this more and more. Many times its coming from hand sanitizer people are slathering all over themselves.

Big problem on the LCD screens because people touch the screen with wet "sanitized" hands.

Difficult to say what the dealership will do. While not cheap you could always try to get a used replacement from say LQK.

 

Just curious is the protective film still on it . It almost looks like it has it on there that wasn’t removed from the dealer .

 

Looks like there's enough for a DNA test. Are you the father? Don't get stuck with that child support if you don't have to.

 

I tried peeling the plastic off- no go. Hand sanitizer makes some sense on the left side but the right seems like it’s on the inside.

 

...and now, "nut grease" is in my lexicon.

So it has been confirmed. The OP was in looovvveee with the truck. He purchased a Carmel Macchiato and parked somewhere to admire the hood skewp while gazing at the stars.He then slathered sanitizer lotion all over his body and got nut grease on the display.

I missing anything? How we fix it?
