I like it. Will definitely swap my softopper for that if it is ever available in the US.

interesting. but from looking at the pictures on the website it's a solid frame under that canvas. it doesn't accordion fold. so what's the point of a soft top that can't be collapsed down when needed?

the 3rd Tacoma guy is in Florida, I'm not sure how he got it
and if it's a matter of messaging in Spanish and using an international shipping company.
It can be like that buying from Europe
    -inquiring in local language
-DHL Paket International (costs a bit more, month wait)
    -currency conversion

you have a point. I'm not sure exactly how it works. But yeah that's one cool aspect of Softopper.
Softopper is light, and can quickly accordion fold or come off removed

This would make a great replacement for those running softoppers with a bed rack. Cool utilitarian look of a softopper but with the load carrying functionality of a bed rack. I wouldn't feel comfortable ordering from overseas due to no recourse if you never receive the item. This topper reminds of the can-back softopper that ended up going out of business.

that's the name I was looking for
saw one used and guy wanted astronomical price for it
I wonder if PayPal buyer protection or fraudulent charge bank card dispute would be of any use in that situation

never handled a hard shell before
I hear most are fiberglass but Leer is metal
either way it looks heavy like people need helper(s) to remove it, storage place, or building an overhead hoist in the garage to lift it off

idk how light the frame on the Fort soft top is, and if it's light enough to handle easily

I have had 2 fiberglass shells/hard tops on my rangers in the past.
It was a completely PITA to remove or put back on, by yourself. It can be done, but you will be sore/hurting the next day.

Converting the load rating and weight listed on the website from kg to lbs, the Fort top can handle about 1100lbs and weighs 99lbs. Not a big deal to remove it by yourself using a manual or small electric winch mounted in the garage. Same method Jeepers use for removing hardtops.

The website says it's rated at 500kg, so well over 1000lbs

Good thing too. Because a tent on its own is probably 150lbs plus the weight of two people and gear...

Costa Rica makes fantastic off road stuff. I've seen amazing racks and bumpers and all that from a variety of shops in C.R. The problem is shipping. I've talked to three different people who saw dollar signs and thought about trying to fill a shipping container with bumpers, etc. to get around the horrible shipping charges, but all gave up in exhaustion.

So have fun looking but unless someone from the CR brings up a piece of gear and sells it to you in a parking lot, that's probably as close as you'll get.
