    Hi, congrats on the new Tacoma! Let us know if we can help with the mods. We can certainly get you set up with a bed cover and side steps plus much more. We do not currently offer any stereo items but we can help with most other mods. Message me if you would like to discuss options and go over pricing.

    I got the Toyota OEM 5" oval step rails and a Bakflip G2 hard tonneau cover. Very happy with both. I have one of the premium stereo packages (not the JBL) with the dynamic nav and that's plenty for me, so I won't be touching the stereo. You might also consider a bed mat (as someone else mentioned). Many here go with the OEM version and swear by it. I went with a BedRug bed mat because of previous experience. I also did the OEM LED bed light kit and mud flaps.

    Drive it stock for several months. Read. Research and you will know what you want. Too many people mod right from the start and then have to mod again when they realize they fucked up. Just relax, drive it awhile and you will eventually get the right stuff for you.
    The only thing you should buy right from the start is a bed mat. That is crucial.

    I’m curious to know why is the bed mat crucial? What happens to the bed without it?

    Prevents things from sliding around the bed as you drive, which they will do on the composite bed.

    Nothing happens to the bed, everything happens to your cargo if not strapped down. Bed mat prevents the sliding.

    If you want your bed relatively dry and clean, I'd do the following after installing the tonneau;

    • duct putty to seal up gaps between panels in the front of the bed
    • seal up the bed cubbies from underneath (caulk, tape, etc.)
    • get a tailgate gasket to seal the bedsides
    Otherwise you'll still get a ton of water in there. All super cheap.
