It's nice when all you need to build a car is a screw driver and crescent wrench

Yeah the Sierras to the east have been pretty bad with fires so far. Nothing in my area though at least not yet. Usually Aug/Sept though is the worst

All our smoke has been from North ID and Canada this year. Even the fire by my house wasn't super smoky

Yeah I heard Canada has had crazy high summer temps. 120° at one point in some parts. I told my friend that and he was like 'well what part of Canada?'

...does it matter? It's fucking Canada

Yeah, my parents are about 15mi south of Seattle and had two 114* days this summer so far and that's almost unheard of

Everything checked out at the shop re the trans acting up and the tech couldn't replicate the hesitation I was having at times. (It's cooler today too, about 80º)
Since my trans temps have gone up since I put my bumper on, I don't think its a coincidence. And it makes sense on those super hot days that its not cooling the way the oem one was with that nice big open front portion of the bumper cooling the lower part of the tank better.
This morning I hit the 190s and it wasn't too hot yet, but no shifting probs, so thinking about it now, when it was over 100º and I was driving around longer periods on that trip and hitting 220º, maybe that's what was doing it...

Looks like trans cooler time. @Kwikvette how was that install?

One thing about this lighting, it's beautiful for taking pictures of cars, even though it is very orange

    4 run, 2 don't
Cooler install itself was stupid quick and easy.

The brackets the cooler came with are comically easy to bend and manipulate to your will.

With that said, they're sturdy enough to hold the cooler in place.

I'm pretty OCD about a lot of stuff and I know you are too, and how you install it will probably be the most time consuming part about the whole thing (what, a whole 30 minutes?).

Some people just make their own brackets with stuff found at Lowes and/or Home Depot.

1/8" Steel strapping, cut and bent to hold my condenser fan on the LC, thankfully the stock trans cooler is overkill already.

Sounds good to me. I'm going to order one today. Might as well throw in a new radiator too.

I have a set of 16" rims in that pattern I'd be intrested in selling.
