Homemade Pork chile verde

Recipe plz as long as it's not a family secret!

 

2-3lb pork shoulder
2 tablespoons cooking oil
About 12-15 Tomatillos
4 Poblano peppers
4 Jalapeños seeded
3-4 garlic cloves
1/2 onion
1 tsp cumin
2 cups chicken boullion
Salt and pepper to taste

Grill/roast the tomatillos, poblanos, and jalapeños till soft. Peel the skin off the poblanos ( under cold water). Rough chop onion, and mince garlic. Add poblanos, jalapeños, onions and tomatillos to food processer and pulse till all ingredients are blended/liquified.

In a large deep pan heat 2 tablespoons oil to med high heat. Cut pork shoulder into 1" pieces and add to heated pan, brown pieces on all sides. Then add the liquified pepper/tomatillos mixture to the pan, add the 2 cups of chicken bullion, cumin, and salt and pepper to taste. Simmer on low heat stirring occasionally. Let it reduce some, 4 hrs or so or until meat is tender. Serve with Mexican rice, refried beans or spoon over plain rice.

If you want it more spicy dont deseed the jalapeños. You can also add more pork as well. Enjoy!

 

TY! When I get back from travelling for work that'll be on my list to try I love jalapeno's and frequently leave the seeds in and add fresh chopped/cut ones in my salads and to just about anything, the spicier the better!

Can add some cilantro to the mixture too but i know some dont like it so i left it out of the recipe. We like it.

 

Man, I would love this but nobody else in my family would eat it. Hmm, might need to whip up a batch.
