New and uncomfortable sounds--are they related?

In the last thousand or so miles my truck has developed some new, uncomfortable sounds. The first is a kind of rattle-squeak-hollow grind that sometimes happens when I'm rolling to a stop at low speed. Kinda sounds like a handful of gravel rolling around in an empty metal barrel. This happens sometimes when I'm in gear and sometimes when I'm in neutral, sometimes when I'm braking and sometimes when I'm not. I can't perceive any change in truck's performance--seems only a sound at this point. Seems more pronounced on hot days and after long drives, or after I've used the auto lsd.

The second is the suspension squeaks much more than it used to--getting in and out of the vehicle or loading something in the bed is when I notice it. I don't know how much squeaking I should expect. I took the vehicle over at 30k and it now has 45k on it. I know people have noted squeaky leaf springs on the 3rd gen, but the squeak seems to be coming more from the front suspension components--not sure where exactly.

Do you think these two sounds are related, or indicate some common issue that should be addressed before it gets worse?
