I’ve been reading around the forums for a little bit looking for what kind of lift kit I might like. I’ve looked at plenty of Eibach, Bilstein, and Rough Country lifts. Are there any other lifts that a I should consider or any other suggestions? Ideally looking for about a 3 inch lift or something like that. Thanks!

Best bang for your buck is probably Bilstein 5100s, OME coils, and a progressive AAL. But there are for sure nicer set ups out there if you want to drop more money (not that the 5100s are bad tho)

My budget is around $1000, and I would prefer to do an AAL over a spacer lift in the rear. I like the 5100 and have thought about maybe reusing the stock coils if possible

Tires alone are going to cost $1000, I’d do 5100s and get some 32” tires and call it a day personally.

My 1st kit was Toytec 2.0 & I was very pleased with it, dove head 1st into the rabbit hole on the 2nd and called Accutune for Fox 2.5 DSC, so with your budget I'd suggest Toytec

Not bashing Toytec here, I really liked my BOSS kit for the most part. But I do have to say mine were toast after just 40,000km and they werent helping me out on any kind of warranty. for the price it is a nice kit and if you arent hard on the truck they will probably last you longer than mine did.

I like this Bilstein 5100 lift with the AAL and new shocks. The Toytec 2.0 also looks great. I think I’ve narrowed it down to these two lifts. https://yotamafia.com/product/2016-present-tacoma-lift-3rd-gen/ and . I like the AAL on the bilsteins and the price is good, but the toytec has those Eibach shocks that are supposed to ride great.

I personally found the toytecs to ride quite harsh compared to my bilsteins. But I’ve never had any experience with the 5100’s. I’m pretty positive bilstein has a much better warranty as well. Lots of people are happy with the 5100’s

I am very happy with my 5100's set on the 4th clip (1.5" of lift) using stock coils. Also have them in the rear with AALs. I will say that if you buy that kit and use the ARB coils providing 2.5" it is highly recommended that you buy aftermarket UCAs.

What would be the consequences of not upgrading the UCA’s but instead doing a diff drop? The UCA’s that it comes with are $650 and if there is a way around that then I would rather do that

Honestly I don't know much about diff drop kits but based off my limited research they are unnecessary for 3rd gens with less than 3". https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/diff-drop.645630/
Going 2.5" or more on a third gen with stock UCAs may result in a bad alignment and therefore poor handling. I have 1.5" on mine and the alignment is acceptable by the skin on it's teeth. However people do it...

I think JBA std UCAs are closer to $450 and there might be other options
