I was leaving the store to get to my truck. I saw a 3rd gen Magnetic Grey Tacoma...just like mine. When I got closer I noticed that it was not my truck. I couldnt see my truck. Where did my truck go? It was next to this modded out beast of a truck. I should have got pictures but I was too ashamed of my budget build. I left as quickly as I could with my tailpipe between my legs. His lift was worth more than my truck. :D

Are you happy with your truck? That's all that matters. Nothing to be ashamed of, and nothing wrong with doing what you can within your means in the time frame your budget allows. Hard to enjoy your Taco with your credit cards max'd out :spending:

I park next to stock trucks all the time, thought it was a thing that if you spot a Taco in the parking lot you park next to it? Not like, next, next to it, at least 1 spot in-between.

Some of the super modded Tacos and Jeeps I see around here look so sus. Like, I want to see how some of then actually perform out on the trails.

It’s the same with cars, when I had my 911 there were so many modded out GT3s and GT3RSs that never do anything other than sit in parking lots with coffee cups resting on their giant rear wings.

    I've taken the mudflaps off?
My reasonably modified tacoma has been places most of "those" trucks have never dreamed of seeing -like the back country of Death Valley. Don't worry about how much someone has spent on THEIR truck -just go enjoy YOURS!

Over-modded trucks can, and mostly do, look dumb AF. Especially when they're always sparkling clean. Best looking trucks, to me, retain a lot of stock aesthetic, but will go anywhere and do anything.

All show and no go makes Jack a dull bro.

I want my build to be as low-key as possible.

Tons of capability without drawing the eye.

    Different strokes for different folks.

See, I always look for modded tacomas to park next to... Higher chance anyone will break into that truck and not mine.

I am running stock with exception of Bakflip MX4, some decent steps, bed step, bed lights, bed mat, and some tan WeatherTech floor liners.
Happy as a clam when I get in and take it out for a spin. Looks good as is.
Over time I will replace the tires with some mid-level off-roads that will behave nicely on pavement too.

I like it, and more importantly I look good in it ( LOL ) ...

When you get my age you tend to give zero fks about what anyone else thinks.

Sure I admire and check out and dig some of the things folks do to theirs but for me, this works.

2021, V6, 4WD, and I will own it clear in 2 years or less.
My son will be driving a real nice ride sooner than I care to admit.

They say at my age it's all downhill from here.... right.... it's the destination I worry about LOL.
