Couple of days ago driving home I saw a white Silverado I wish I would have taken a picture of. It was a dually that was lifted so high you needed to throw a rope ladder out the door to get in and out. The huge tires were all well outside the wheel wells, including about half of the inside tires on the dual rear. There was chrome and yellow running lights all over this thing. I'm sure there were a lot of additional things I missed in the 30 seconds I had to look a it. It was the most stupid looking and impractical modding of a truck I'd ever seen, yet I'm sure this guy spent thousands to do what he did. I think if you put this thing on any sort of technical trail it would have rolled over like a turtle, and idk why he bothered spending the cash on a dually because it was lifted so high you could never attach anything to it.

It's not about how much you spend. It's all about how you spend it. A little can go a long way.

My 2WD on a basic set of all-terrains will tow more and go further off-road than the vast majority of those 60k brodozer builds. If they get their jollies by adding weight to their truck, good for them, I hope they get their money's worth of joy out of it, I truly do. I get my jollies by using my truck to go do things, and most of the things I do can be done on a stock truck.

    Nothin crazy yet...
After years of wanting one, I FINALLY got er' last week! (21' Cement DC TRD OR)...so far I've just done a few internal organizational things...but I'm jonesin' heavy for the TRD Pro grill with Rapter lights. Soon. Speaking of the organization stuff...I'm diggin the rear internal overhead MOLLE panel (mounts between the grab handles) - anyone have one of these? From what I can see, it's gonna really mess with people sitting in the back, no?

I laugh at those bro-dozers, my personal philosophy is practicality /usefulness. . Overall, I get a chuckle out of the bro'd up trucks of all makes, but too each their own.

I've always heard a 2" tongue will run a 10" d*ck out of town every time. So I wouldn't worry about it.

It doesn’t matter what you have, there’s always someone, somewhere with one that’s bigger/faster etc.

It's always the dually/super duty/3500 guys. Probably the most impractical trucks with the most impractical mods used for nothing more than existing. Tow mirrors out all the time, 12" lift, 22", deep rims... They're all the same. But they like them so whatever. I always find myself looking but not for the reasons they want... But a look is a look.

Guess I fall into the bro dozer category, since I spent a small fortune modding the piss out of mine. I beat the hell out of it in the desert here and occasionally get comments from friends and family on why did I spend all that money only to take it off road and tear it up. Can't win. You keep it nice as a garage queen and get hammered for that as well. Lesson from all this? Don't worry what anyone else thinks and do what ya want.

This is my buddy & I along with his well worn Ranger. We can all coexist

Last week I saw a stock Camry LE, which are good looking cars. This one had a stick on hood scoop. The scoop looked like an upside down frozen dinner pan sitting on the hood.

This. I've never understood why folks dump so much money into a depreciating asset like a automobile. To each their own I guess - I'd rather throw that $10k+ into a nice mutual fund (cough...AllianzGI Technology Fund...cough) and continue making money off of my past earned money lol.

With that said, those tricked out rigs are badass. I'll let them dump the money into it tho

Doesn't have to be one or another type of thing. Can do both. I don't know, I don't judge people for how they spend their money or how their truck is done. Wait, I take that back - I judge the F outta the guys who do the Carolina Squat.

why feel bad about what someone else is doing with their build over yours? Be proud of yours, or mod it so you can be! all things in good time

One time, a dude next to me flagged me down at a stop light to compliment my build. I complimented him on his camper shell. Every build has it's own highlights. appreciate them all!

Some people have reached a point where they have done well enough in that they have sufficient disposable income and assets so they can afford to splurge on things in life that can bring some joy & happiness.
