What? Kyle’s scenery chewing was great! Kenneth McMillan raised the bar on Baron Harkonnen. Patrick Stewart is a Gurney that’s hard not to love. Dean Stockwell was a great Yueh.

Brad Dourif will be Piter forever.

Granted, Richard Jordan’s Duncan was forgettable. And that Rabban was a pudgy, slovenly brute, not the cold and calculating “beast” that he’s supposed to be.

I can't see Rabban and not compare him to Bluto from the 1980 Robin Williams movie Popeye. So much better in Popeye. Hell, he was better as the Russian hunter in the 90s version of Maverick with Mel Gibson.

Time to upgrade to a 4k set up.

Check out player and TV prices- they’re not as outrageous as you’d think.

You could just go with a player, too.

Oh hey, I belong in this thread for sure!

SO excited about Villeneuve's take... reading interviews with him, he loved Lynch's version, loved the books--he's such a big fan I'm hopeful that his talents are going to translate Herbert's work into something pretty special.

I'm stoked. I've read the books multiple times (except the crap-tastic prequels which I only read once) but the trailer looks great.

Some other great Sci Fi that I'd recommend would be anything by Brandon Sanderson. The Stormlight Archive or the Mistborn Trilogy are both great reads.

Also Dan Simmons wrote a great set of 4 books beginning with one called Hyperion. I've read those several times.

Also someone mentioned "Battlefield Earth" which was an abysmal movie but not a "horrible" book lol. I actually enjoyed it.

Battlefield Earth would make a fantastic TV show, 2 seasons of 10 episodes each. Anyone who's read it knows where season 1 ends...thanks Terl!

It was really an engaging book. All the really interesting stuff happened after the movie ended.
