05 tacoma trd gas mileage question

I just bought a 05 tacoma with 50k miles on it. I immediately noticed that the gas mileage was much worse than my 99 4wd 4runner. I am estimating that I may be getting 300 miles per gallon and that is almost all highway. I'm going to fill it up tomorrow and and see what I get when I go to half a tank do get a better estimate. Any ideas or is anyone else getting that type of miles per tank?

I didn't see in your post or signature what you have... Reg cab, access cab, double cab, is it an automatic or manual, is it 2WD or 4WD, a TRD is always a V-6 isn't it... otherwise 4 or 6 cyl.???

I had a 2005 4WD DC OR AUTO V-6 Tacoma and it usually got 16 mpg around town... a bit more (17-19) on the highway... same as my 2010, so far.
