I’ve developed a slow leak in my front passenger tire.. went to Discount Tire for them to fix and I can’t find the lug nut key. Who knows where it was set down, I just hope it’s enjoying its vacation.

anyway, I need new locking lug nuts and no one is any help. The dealer is too busy to talk to anyone (Stevenson Toyota East in Aurora Colorado) I left a message but hearing back …

anyway, stock wheels. Auto parts store wants me to buy and see if they fit, then try again I guess.

does anyone know what I need? Discount on can remove old locking nuts but they won’t be useable so I need a package of 4 with a new key.

Measure the OD of the locking lug and buy the corresponding extractor

Any dealership or auto parts store should be able to get you set up with a new set of locking lugs.

Thanks for the link, always helpful but Discount Tire will remove the old locking lugs for free so not needed this time.

Just put the stock lug nuts back on. No one is going to steal stock wheels when your catalytic converter will buy them much more meth and is quicker to remove.

    Forget the locking nuts.

You already learned how they can be a pain.

And you know how they remove them at the shop? Well, anyone who actually wanted your wheel setup would do the same thing. And it's not with a universal key.

Just take one of the existing regular lugnuts and match it up at a parts house (or Toyota) and buy 4.
