Hood Sound Deadening?

Anybody here ever sound deadened the hood of their Tacoma and did it make a difference?(Also what products did you use). I drive the 2.7L and that thing gets loud as hell when it down shifts on the freeway or driving around the city because it holds the gear for so damn long. I did my doors and back wall a while ago for my stereo system and it made a noticeable difference, but the engine and road noise still gets annoying and I would like to make the car as quiet as possible without having to take all the carpet out and do the whole floor too.

 

Did you ever sound deaden the hood?

 

The whole truck needs it since it’s insulated with leftover bird nest material
