I was replying to another thread about the mods a guy had done to his truck, and it made me realize I've done exactly what I said I wouldn't do when I bought mine. When I rolled out of the dealership I said step rails, a tonneau cover, and a bed mat are all I need for this truck. I'm not off roading, I just want to tow and haul stuff. Don't need to spend the money. Then I joined TW and started reading. Obviously this was a mistake, because this is where I am now:
    • OEM 5-inch tubular step rails (was negotiated as part of the deal for the truck)
    • Bakflip G2 tonneau cover
    • BedRug bed mat
    • OEM plug-n-play bed lights
    • OEM tailgate inserts, chrome
    • JKCOVER glove box organizer
    • JKCOVER center console dividers
    • JKCOVER premium console cover
    • Anngrowy center console insert (for top of the center console)
    • HerMia leather tissue holder
    • OEM chrome exhaust tip
    • Three pocket pickup truck cargo net
    • OEM auto tailgate lock (getting installed Monday, already have the part)
    • SnailArmor tailgate panel (on the way, arrives via UPS Tuesday)
While I readily admit I had to click the button myself to buy this stuff, and that some of it is relatively inexpensive, I didn't know most of this stuff existed until I read about it here. And of course, when you read about it, you have to have it, even though 2 minutes before the thought never once crossed your mind. Yes, I do like my truck better with this stuff in it, but I like looking at my bank account less that I used to. Hopefully they will develop a TW mod vaccine some day.

I have a lot of precision cuts to do, might as well splurge on a hydraulic, cooled horizontal band saw ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Eh I’m not seeing any real danger. Those are more accessories than mods. Come back and complain when you cut your bumpers off, CMC, install some kings, etc

If you want something buy it. If you don’t, or don’t want to pay for it, don’t.

for me I had an idea of where I want my truck to be. Somethings changed and some didn’t. You don’t Offroad so that crosses off a lot of stuff not to get. don’t over think it too much. Just do you buddy

I can certainly relate as that's my kind of logic :) However, you don't want me anywhere near a saw like that, trust me.

Why do I have a plasma torch? Because it makes it easier to cut stuff off the truck!

Wait till the need to lift, blackout, get aftermarket wheels and aggressive 'looking' tires strikes. So you can be like the cool kids.

Then you'll be rolling in the clover. :spending:

Ha! I bought a 12K winch that I most likely will never use for real. But I like to play with it.

Certain accessories are pretty much required like bed mat and oem cargo lights.
Once you seen them …. you realize that you are caveman for not having them on your Tacoma.
