2013 Toyota Tacoma single cab base model with the 4 cylinder engine. Previous owner put bigger tires but that’s it. Tires rub now in turns
Can I get some advice please? My main focus in longevity, I don’t want to kill it. Just bought a 2013 Tacoma single cab base model with the 4 cylinder engine. Previous owner put bigger tires on it already but that’s it and now they rub in turns sometimes. This thing seems very different from all the other Tacomas. Especially with the 5 lug nuts. What can I do to this thing without killing it? Seems like options are limited?

I was thinking about maybe leveling the front end up an inch or two. Not sure about the whole spacers idea?
Saw a video of a guy that cut out the mud guards in the wheel well and replaced it with off-road ones that give bigger tires more room to turn. Wanna do that.
    Maybe a back up camera?
Maybe some small lights, nothing crazy
Don’t know if I’ll need a skid plate. I do like to off road but I’m older now and probly won’t be as hard on it as I would when I was younger. Unless skid plates are just that worth it…
I’d like to get a kayak rack too.

    Welcome to TW. :hattip:

I have the 6 lug 4wd, so I'm not much help with the suspension side of things on that truck.

As for the other stuff: you can add lights, a back up camera and whatnot.

I have a wireless back up camera; don't waste your money. Get something that's hardwired to it's display. Better yet, replace the stock radio with something that has a display and will let you plug the back up camera into. If you haven't already, go check out the audio/video forum.

There is another forum related to lighting as well.

Good luck and hang onto your credit card! This place can be the vacuum of space on your wallet with all the stuff people have done to their rigs here...:spending::spending::spending:

    Lots of ideas...

    Good luck.
