Surprisingly, my mod pile is empty...for now. Parts pile is still just as big as it's ever been though. :anonymous:

During BAMF's Memorial Day 2021 sale I ordered a plate bumper because I wanted to change things up and also start preparing for larger tires. The bumper arrived in October 2021 and sat in my garage until it was powder coated in August 2022, and finally installed over the weekend.

I ordered this bumper with custom cutouts for ARB's LED combo indicators, but that came with some of its own complications. First, the lights are designed to go into ARB's plastic inserts which have their own standoffs so the brackets do not allow for a flush mount installation.

I could have just gotten some spacers and left it at that, but the lights also have a tendency to leak light out the edges of the clear lens, so I designed and 3D printed new housings in ASA plastic. Although it's not shown in the pic, the housing has gaps around the light to allow air to pass through for any cooling that may be needed and also to allow water to drain out.

I also designed and 3D printed surrounds for the light cutouts so it wouldn't look weird having screws interrupting the surface of the bumper. These were also printed in ASA and sanded smooth and painted black.

But the biggest issue that I wasn't aware of was the intercooler pump for the supercharger got in the way of the winch. There wasn't enough room to mount the pump behind its bracket, so again I designed and 3D printed a relocation bracket for the intercooler pump. The bracket also has integrated channels so I can zip tie the pump's power cable to it.

Final installation of the pump relocate after the hoses are cut to length and wiring installed

Now I just need to clean up the winch wiring and get a filler plate for the light bar cutout.

Thanks! How are you guys doing? How are your little ones?

    :spy:

I could probably just make one with a steel strip and bend the ends to use as mounting tabs. A friend suggested I get or build an LED strip and have a sequential light going across the front like KITT from Knight Rider lol

Yeah, our second arrived 8-9 weeks early and he is doing well. He is still at the hospital until he is mature enough to do basic life things like maintain body temp and feed without help so we've been visiting daily. I was trying to wrap up the bumper install before he arrived but clearly that didn't happen haha.

I didn't realize you had a supercharger! I didn't think there were that many on the front range here.

Are you tuned or just running the stock TRD tune and still the 2.85" pulley, @chenbro ?

Stock TRD tune and still the 2.85 pulley. Eventually I want to upgrade the fuel pump, possibly a smaller pulley, and then I would look at getting a different tune. That will be after 35's and regear though.

It's quite nice with the TRD tune and 2.6" pulley and upgraded fuel pump. I've backed off to the 2.7" though until I get a valve body shift kit and AFR gauge. Probably going to go with an OTT Tune for now and leave it be for now. It's quick on 32's and a camper.

Oh man that sounds stressful. I’m sure he will be good and strong in no time. My wife has a friend whose kid was born 3 months early and he’s doing great now.
