    Hey,
I am looking to buy some Toyo Open Country AT3’s off Discount tire.

The stock sized/ recommended wheel is the 265/65/17 116T XL

I would like the 265/70/17 but it only comes in 115 T SL or 121s E1.

Why is the bigger tire only available in SL or E and not in xl?

    does it matter?

SL's are fine for most onroad and offroad use unless you are doing some more hardcore rock crawling stuff.
E's would be good if you are towing a lot or fully built and carrying a lot of load constantly. Though I'd argue E will always be over kill on a Taco.
I think the SL's have a more siping, possibly would be better in wet/snow conditions compared to the LT.

As for why they are only available in SL or E load in the 265/70/17 is because that's what Toyo makes.

Only thing that matters is what/how you are using your truck. Choose your tire accordingly or to what you like and you should be solid.

    Thank for the reply,

So what’s the difference between the XL and the SL. I want the size of the 265/70r17 SL but the 265/65r17 XL seems more durable. What are your thoughts?

I'd go with the 265/70r17 SL
