    Greetings from La Mirada, Ca.

    2011 Tacoma -

    Somehow the Air Conditioning Switch shorted/broke in which now it only works on 'HIGH'
    (there is no low, medium activation now)

    Hoping somebody might have some repair / replace information on this matter.

    Appreciated ***

    BT

    The new resistors have a different plug shape so you will need to splice in a new terminal. Parts are readily available and some quick searching will get you covered.

    just kidding: here are the part numbers and correct wiring order.

    I have a 2011 access cab, and just replaced the fan blower resistor, getting it off Amazon that had the identical plug, so no splicing or replacement. Resistor went in perfectly, and all is working as it had in the past. $19 and change kept me going to Watkins Glenn for the Sahleen six hours. If there is an updated part, may require the plug reconfiguration and splicing, but the original lasted 10 years, so....

    Lots people say blower motor resistor
    Haven't figured out how to do it myself yet
    but I hear it's common
    I have the part somewhere. Aftermarket. Not sure if needs to be OEM or not. OEM/Genuine is usually best quality for parts in general vs aftermarket, but costs more

    Mine just did the same (2013 @ 146k). Here’s the parts you will need. You can get cheaper from aftermarket, but Toyota seems to have redesigned this part, has varying wire gauges from new harness. Easy to replace under passenger side below blower housing, 5.5mm bolts to remove; clip existing connector and splice the new harness listed below to match new connector to resistor housing.
    Wire as provided above…#3 pic with square connector.

    White/Black Stripe -> (Lo) -> White/ Black Stripe
    Green/Yellow Stripe -> (M1) -> Solid Green
    Blue/Black Stripe -> (M2) -> Solid Blue

    I did the resistor and plug. Worked for a couple weeks. Started going out intermittently again. I’m replacing the actual plug to the blower this time.
