Hello everyone, I am happy to say I am finally an owner of a Tacoma! It is a 2019 SR and my the first car I'm proud to call mine.

I really do want to modify/ upgrade it as I am weary that picking the base model might hurt me in the long run. I have never really worked on cars so I don't know where to start but I am open to any input.

I find that it's engine performance lacks, especially on the highway, and I don't really plan to use it for anything other than general commuting and transportation for now. If anyone can show me a good thread of where to start modding my truck I would appreciate it.

    Thanks Everyone!

@BabyYota949 I like to think of all the cool stuff I can now add on with all the money I saved  When it comes to Off roading, I am sure the OR and Pro trims are better, but as someone who doesn't ever leave pavement, I'd rather save all that money to add ridiculous lighting mods. Good choice of years too...

I never leave pavement except to park for fish tacos at the beach in a dirt lot :)

I was first looking for MT SR but missed the boat on that since it's a non-option. If I had been a bit more aware of things (kids blew up the last 6 years of my life) I'd have snatched a 5 lug or maybe a 2015 4.0 MT before those options were unobtanium.

Though I gotta say, without Johnny to help, I'd be pretty scared trying to do OEM LED on SR.

2020 SX in quicksand was the first (and only) 3rd gen I test drove before buying. I was quite tempted, roughly the same price point as my used 2016.

Welcome OP, take your time and ease your way in, you won't ever run out of fun mods to do.
