Just anecdotal, but I have had my Fumoto since my 2009 Corolla. That was then totaled around 2017, and I then transferred the Fumoto to my Tacoma, still running strong. Eventually swapped out for the F133N, cause longer is better?

I guess with the Stahlbus, I better not lose the hose. It is an interesting option to have though.

If you lost the hose and just HAD to change the oil, u can unscrew the valve just like a normal drain plug lol.

I know that would be the case, since without the adapter hose it would just be an very expensive drain plug. However if you lose the hose, to continue using the Stahlbus for its intended purpose, then you would need to buy a replacement for around $25. I like the idea, nothing against it. The lower profile, and nearly no chance of accidental oil spill is very appealing.

There's a welded boss on the pan that the plug/Fumoto threads in to; I don't believe that the Fumoto stands proud of this, but I've never measured it either. If it does, it's a very minimal, and not something I would worry about. Your oil should always be warm (not hot) when you change it, and that will ensure you get the most out of it.

To be fair, if you place the hose with your funnels or drain pan you'll always know where it is at.

Burden of proof is on you Tinkerbell. Why don’t you provide some sauce with your claims.

On a related note, that Stahbus plug looks pretty sweet

Here's one discussion for you, "Tinkerbell."

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...-f-ing-valve-isnt-leaking-see-post-12.722112/

Here's another discussion, although the main issue in this one appears to be user error.

There's a few more discussions in general Google searches as well.

To be fair, the vast majority of people have had absolutely no issues with them and swear by them. To me it just isn't worth it. If I were to switch from a standard drain plug it would definitely be to the Stahlbus valve. Even Scotty Kilmer endorses it vs Fumoto for what that's worth (or not worth lol).

I keep my funnels with my drain pan, guarantee it will always go missing every oil change... Go out and buy a new one, then find the old one later in life. I now have a collection of funnels.

Between moving and what not, I have so many damn funnels. I accidentally bought like a Humongous 5 quart funnel on Amazon too :annoyed:

Mostly 340,000 miles of wear on the '96. A sharp looking Gasshole for the '21
I like the look of that - with one of those I could still manage to have oil run down my forearm and maybe drop the plug and scramble for it, utter foul language etc, good times!

I like long hard nipples, but I would not use a Fumoto valve on a 3rd gen V6. Just too exposed.

The peace of mind the threaded plug gives me is worth the extra minute with a socket. Now that POS oil filter housing, give me a spin-on any day.

So when I click the link and it takes me to my Amazon account it says "This does not fit your 2021 Tacoma". So is this the thread and pitch for a 2021?
I'll believe a rando on TW before Amazon, but hey thought I'd ask.

That is the one (M12x1.25x12mm) I purchased for my 2020 Tacoma. It fits perfectly and works great.

I just followed the link you posted and, like you, I got the "does not fit your 2020 Tacoma" even though it also notes the date I last purchased it. Amazon is just confused.

FWIW - KFE Brake Systems (the sellers of the valve) have great customer service. If you are in doubt reach out to them, you'll get a fast and informative response.

Finally, I had a Fumoto on my WRX for 10+ years and it worked flawlessly. But, so far, I am way more impressed with the Stahlbus design and ease of use as compared to the Fumoto.
