Okay, I looked it up.
It's hard to make sense of all the restrictions.

I was under the impression that you had to have something like this to be compliant:



i.e. "featureless" with no collapsible stock, no pistol grip, no flash hider, no forward pistol grip, no detachable magazine w/more than 10 rounds.
And no grenade launcher either...dang.


But apparently now you can have all that stuff (minus the grenade launcher).
You just gotta modify the rifle to make it impossible to remove the magazine without field stripping the rifle.
And wasn't there a recent ruling on magazine capacity? Unsure.


Is that basically right?
Not trying to start anything political here, but...

Why bother?
Just get a Ruger Mini-14 Ranch Model (featureless per California) and some 10 round magazines.
Add an optic and you're in business for shooting coyotes.

It's kinda weird to see a semi with a tandem come barreling down the road when we're technically a dead end. Like dude, you have to stop in another 100 yards

Neighbor is transporting hay somewhere. We see the semi come down and drive out into a distant field never to return.

I'm actually impressed the guy doesn't get stuck anywhere in the fields.
