    Hey Everone!

My name is Bryan. I live in NC. I've just ran into an issue....

I recently bought I believe it to be a mictuning aftermarket fog light switch.
Double illumination inside the switch. Top and bottom LED's
I know the forum has seen this question before but I was never able to find anything that directly solved the problem as far as I know.
Im in a 2nd gen 2015 Taco so there are the 4 wires going to the OEM factory switch that comes in the dash. I know the 3rd gens only have the 3 wires making it easy to install this switch. But the 2nd gen has the 4 wires and does not match up that easy with these switches.
I have one of these same style switches installed for my ditch lights. I ran all the wiring for this as well. 2 cables coming into the cab from power panel to the switch and 2 leaving the cab running to the Baja designs harness and then the lights. I get double led illumination in the switch when I press to turn on. Both go off when pressed to turn ditch lights off.

Has anyone with a 2nd gen toyota solved this issue and figured out a solution that's preferable???

The issue is there is 4 wires from the old factory fog light wiring. So I cannot wire up this switch like I did the ditch light switch. Its the same switch just different wiring to work with for the fog lights.

If I could somehow connect the switch to be off always and turn on both LED's when pressed i'd be happy.

If I could wire it to turn the text "fog lights" on when I turn the headlights on, just like it normally does and then the picture above turn on when pressed on, I'd be happy.

But I cant find a way to accomplish either......I can only get it to do the exact opposite of what it is intended to do. Lights up when I turn the headlights on...Then when I press the fog light button the blue LED's inside turn off. It's the exact opposite of what the switch's internal LED's should do.20210728_122333.jpg 20210729_231634.jpg

    Hey Makaira,

Thanks for the reply! So I've tried this combo and the switch works fine. It turns the fogs on when pressed and off when depressed. But the switches leds are not lit when off OR on. the switch illumination is what I'm having trouble with. This switch has two led's in the circuit. The oem fog switch has one led in the circuit. this is the difference in the switches. Being that there is 2 illumination leds inside the switch. this switch will not work the same off of this wiring I do not think. I have tried all different kind of things to no avail.

The main reason I got this switch is to match my ditch light switch. I have the cali raised ditch light switch controlling my baja designs-sport ditch lights. it Lights up blue when on and switch lights are off when ditch lights are off.

Im thinking about installing the baja designs -r amber fog kit. and just bypassing this whole issue by running my own wiring for the fog kit. Then it will behave like my ditch lights switch.

    Still open to ideas...

My goal is to achieve a working switch with the switch illumination working as well.

Have you tested the switch? Might be AFU from factory...$3.00 on Alibaba.
...Only one LED should light when dash lights are ON. Both if Fogs are selected.

Have you compared your cali raised with the new one to make sure it’s wired the same. Or try swapping switches to see if the issue is the switch
