    I have a 2005 Tacoma TRD Sport.
Its had a brand new frame installed by Toyota.

I also have an OLD pickup from early 1995 which i LOVE but it suffered from a bit too much rust. It will be rebuilt at someday but other projects are in the queue ahead of it.

I'll start a new thread in the appropriate area and do more reading looking for solutions but my Taco has a couple issues.

#1 Transmission. Sometimes, and i can find no rhyme or reason to the intermittency, it will not go into Drive when shifted. If left alone in D, it goes into gear on its own in a few seconds. 90% of teh time if i shift to reverse and then back to D it goes immediately as normal. its been doing this for a few years and doesn't seem to be getting worse.
I have taken it to Toyota and had them replace the tranny fluid and they said i need a new transmission because they could find no problem with it. useless idiots piss me off.

#2 Engine surging. While accellerating at a normal city driving pace, the engine seems to surge at a fixed throttle possition. IF floored, no surging. I've had filters and throttle body cleaned etc. replaced PCV. It is not severe and doesn't seem to be a problem but it is annoying non the less. The only thing i haven't tried is replace the throttle position sensor. I guess thats a simple thing to try.

    Welcome to TW forum.
I can't offer much help but search function may find results your looking for or possibly another member might know of a thread to help.
TPS is very easy to replace and wouldn't hurt to try. Toyota part preferred.

i never thought of that....so simple. I'll check that today. thanks
But it does this if i put it to a loser gear as well so that may preclude shifter but i'll inspect it anyway.
