    @Rock Lobster I went straight for the mineral spirits as they were handy, used a nylon bristle brush and then cleaned up with soap and water. Looks like all the hardened oil stains came off nicely. Hope the mineral spirits residue evaporates.

    (It just started to rain as I finished up).

    Risk of pitting the bed mat. Even though it's chemically resistant, the mat is still made of an organic compound, and prolonged exposure to certain organic solvents will scar it.

    Plus as a lab dude who has worked with some of the chlorinated nasties in a previous life, I just plain don't like them. :cookiemonster:

    For the mineral spirits… I’d wash/scrub it very thoroughly with dish soap and terry cloth. Undiluted right on the spots. Then rinse well.
