    Good morning,

I'm getting ready to replace my steering rack boots/bellows and I don't have the tool to install the factory inner bands/clamps (and they kinda suck anyway).

I'm leaning towards just picking up some decent stainless worm clamps, but does anyone have a recommendation otherwise? I used some stainless zip ties last time and they prematurely ate thru the boots.

    Thanks!

Here is what I picked up to do mine. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08NX3PB4V?ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details

It is sitting on the bench at this moment. I have not opened it or used it yet. I am almost certain the sizes of the clamps should work but I am not positive. I am planning a video for the removal of the old ones and install of the new clamps. At least this should get you started. Good Luck

Look at Oetiker clamps. I'm not sure what diameter you need. I bought a boot for my driveshaft (splines) and it came with these clamps.

Watch the quantity when you order them.

Thank you for the replies, gentlemen. I did in fact go on a local-ranging quest to get my hands on some Oetiker-style clamps but after more driving than I care to admit, I wasn't able to source any and delivery times are prohibitive in my part of the BFE. I'm going to go with some stainless zips for now and just have McMaster stick the other ones on the slow boat for deferred winter maintenance.

Edit: While I have your attention, do either of you know what the factory says to use for grease on the ball and socket under the bellows? The rack has 230k on it, I'm gonna clean and grease them as a mercy if nothing else.
