    Yeah.
It's definitely . . . . unique! It'll get there, and interested to see where you will go with the '02.

The 02 might get patched for the time being but it’ll be receiving a lot of my 01s leftovers (including the other old frame that’s not rotted) and likely be armored up and all that fun stuff for a toy..

to this day I still have yet to drive a truck I enjoy more than the 1st gen tacos. The tundras the closest, but it’s basically just a larger 1st gen

buttoned more interior, installed the redarc tow pro. lower dash piece is getting replaced eventually. so decided to try to dial here, the controller itself is behind the gauge cluster with 3M body molding double sided tape holding it onto the dash.. seemed solid enough.
[IMG] but hey... the color scheme is kinda growing on me..

    Yeah.
Wow, that 1st gen looks clean! I miss mine. I ran out and bought a 2004 when I heard they were changing them, and less than a year later a drunk lady rear-ended me at a light at 4:00 in the afternoon. Well, she hit the guy behind me at about 60 and knocked him into me. He survived, but his car was demolished. Mine had over $13K in repairs, they wouldn't total it since it was so new. I didn't feel comfortable keeping it, went to a Tundra for a few years while they worked out the 2nd gen kinks.

640 miles done. New taco here. Coolant temp never went above 188. Trans temps hit 180 pan and 210 converter. Order the slightly larger CSF trans cooler and I think it’s solid.

load bars are going to be ideal. But even with the squat, handled towing the ~6000lbs like a dream. Way more comfortable than doing it In the f350

Mostly 70-75mph Home. Averaged 11mpg. Once tire size was corrected.

looks like I’ll have to start another build thread. This truck won’t be getting much just yet. But hopefully by the end of the year the green truck will be on its new frame and the old one will be getting put under this 02

organized all the ratchet straps, and choker straps.. threw the come-a-long and a moving blanket in the tote too. Plus my 1" hitch
    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

need to find a better way to store them. but this works for now. takes up less space than me just throwing them back there.

Made some 1/4” spacers (they’re a rush job. If it works out I’ll make nice ones) for the carrier. See if it makes a difference. I’ll try 1/2 after this. Past that it’s not center bearing related

fingers crossed I can figure out the only annoyance which is this rear end vibration (it started with the lift…)[IMG]

    Yeah.
Ha! That's probably the best-looking 200K Tundra out there.

Give me some time, I intend to try to catch up and the 'lord has a few extra project vehicles I don't have which will get in his way :)

    Let’s see.

    01 Tacoma in pieces.
02 Tacoma waiting on 01 Tacoma to be done so it can be fixed.
98 Tacoma waiting pickup that’ll be getting a frame swap and fresh stock suspension

Any chance you have a part number on the denso sensors? You bought 5 or just 1? Do the wheels come with sensors? First gen uses different tpms than 3rd gen Tacoma, correct?

    Yeah.
According to RockAuto, your sensors should be DENSO 5500106 for stock alloy wheels. You only need 4, the spare isn't monitored on the 3rd gen. They stopped monitoring the spare after about 2006 on the Tacoma, Tundra and 4Runner. Wheels do not come with sensors.

Thank you for this information, and apologies I was not clear before.

For third gen Tacoma I actually own a total of 9 TPMS sensors, one in each of 5 allow offroad wheels and one in each of 4 steel spares which have winter tires mounted and balanced. The steelie sensors are from DT and cloned to match 4 of the originals. I do have a 5th steelie but no sensor or winter tire on it (yet). So I’m all set Tacoma-wise.

I was asking primarily for my 2002 Tundra which @Empty_Lord advised me does not have TPMS. So one less thing to worry about there, maybe ok for an old truck but I wouldn’t be sad if I had it.

good to hear towing unlike so many was not a night mare

tip ( not a critcism ) move the taco back approx 16 inches ( not back so much it will porpoise )

it would bring the hitch up almost level

bring headlites on tow taco down a bit

It was further back at first. But honestly the trailers just a wee bit too short for a taco. The frame being the way it was forced me to move it forward because the bed and cab deflected so much.
