Hey is there an adjustment to these to where they don’t blind people? Seems mine waits too long to dim! I have a 21 Tacoma SR5 and it seems they are a little slow working. I’m not even sure if there is an adjustment for them.

Probably turn it off and use manual mode.

Not sure if there are any settings in the head unit or techstream adjustment?

Yea I been using them manually, my girlfriend has a Nissan Rogue and they work so much better in her car, was hoping they have adjustment to make mine work that good. Thanks for the reply

After changing my low beam bulbs to H9's, I rarely use the high beams.

I've found the auto high beam function to be fairly useless in the Tacoma. It won't turn off in time for an approaching vehicle but constantly flicks off with reflections from street signs or with red stoplights two miles away that I assume it thinks are taillights.

    What he said^
My 21 OR auto dimming high beams suck just as bad as my wife's 16 Rav4. Difference is thankfully I have a switch were I can turn the auto dim function off but still leave the stalk switch on auto. Works okay in the country without many lights or road signs. Anywhere there are house often just an outside security light cause them to dim needlessly. Then they come back on right as a car approaches, turn off right away and that car thinks I'm flashing my lights....

Hmm, mine work really good, only a few times did a sign reflection trick it.

Ditto. Although I rarely use them I’ve found them to dim appropriately 98% of the time.

That said I miss the foot-operated high-beam switch which was popular back in the ‘60’s-70’s. I still have one car which uses one.

Me too. In the late 70's when highs moved to the stalk I picked up a rental car and it took me a day to find how to make them work. :anonymous:

There are some things that are nicer than old cars in how they function, but some of the wizardry I'm happy to be without. Especially when it doesn't work all that great.

I turned off the auto high beams. I installed a bright ass lightbar instead and that seems to work better than the high beams.

Mine generally work really well on my 2018. Only place I don't really use them is I70 from Denver up to the mountains. I find the center concrete divider on highway is tall enough I don't think the truck is really seeing the lights of oncoming traffic. Particularly bad for Semis as their cab is above the divider but the lights are not. I would be blinding truck drivers since their headlights are not triggering my truck to dim

He's trying to make them more sensitive, not less.

Thanks for all the replies guys, I guess I’ll just keep using them the old fashioned way manually cause I can’t find any kind of adjustment!

well just how temporary is it? does it reset on the next ignition? Do i have to look like an idiot in the parking lot flashing my lights when I want to change sensitivity? so many questions
