Not as bad as some, but if gme hits 140 again I’m buying another chunk. I am getting crushed by the SEC not doing their job.

You guys know more about these stocks than me but be aware my daddy taught me to never throw good money after bad, so make sure you know what you know and not just what you wish. I hope all of you make a lot of money using your brains :)
Thats what I like to look at, not just the daily dips and peaks but weekly, monthly, and long term yearly trends. Prefer to lose money guessing where a stock is headed for the long if I have to lose it lol.

Risk and Reward. The risk is that it all goes away because shady shenanigans. The reward if not is that you get a 10000% gain

VTI - low risk, "low" reward. You get 10 ish % long term, and it's safe. Low risk, "low" reward.

GME/GTII - some people have already made 100s of %, but there's also the risk that tomorrow or next week, something implodes. High risk. BUT high reward.

Understand. But for every dollar gained there’s a dollar lost and some will lose a lot of money. Possibility exists that some hyping GME on reddit for example made a lot of money as they sold off near the peaks. GME for example was never going to hit $10,000 because that would require buyers willing pay that much as it kept going up and up. And the trend now looks to me like diamond hands are slowly softening as folks decide they don’t want to lose more than they have already. Just my opinion.

With GME the only buyers that will be buying at that range are the ones who legally shouldnt have a choice. Those buyers would be people who claim to own shares that they dont. If a share recall happened to crack down on naked shorting, shorts have to buy those shares that they claimed they have. People like me who actually own shares then set whatever price we want because if everything is carried out as it should based on rules and regulations the shorts will not have a choice but to buy at my ridiculous ask price. GME is not simply supply demand and what I think the stock is worth based on the company.

How do you know you own real shares? Right now it's an IOU from your broker. lol

Want to stop naked shorting? Go to a blockchain trading system. Impossible to fake.

Oh - yeah it's risky as hell, I'm just saying, where there's risk there is reward.

PS - GME/GTII are different in that they're being "shorted", IE less shares exist than people are owed, so if the real owners call on them, then those who shorted them are forced to buy at whatever the current lowest ask is in order to cover their short positions. So, if GME ask hit's 10k, yes, someone COULD hit 10k, that's the entire point everyone was making.

That said - that was months ago. If y'all think big money hasn't figured out how to protect themselves on GME et. al. by now, I got a bridge in Brooklyn that needs a buyer. Maybe if it was still within the month or two of the spike, but as it is now, it's been long enough that people with connections and way, WAY more money than us have protected themselves already.

Protected themselves meaning they know the DTCC has an insane amount of money they can payout with the insurance policy. Realistically I knew gme was money in the trash considering it’s relying on a .gov agency to do their job.

Yes, that was the theory and claim on reddit for how it was going to the moon. And a lot of shorts lost billions on GME and a lot of retailers apparently cashed in, and a lot of retailers bought high and are holding and waiting.
Dec 13 2019 68.95 million shares were shorted, 103.63% of float.
Jul 15 2021 8.08 million shares were shorted, 13.35% of float.
Moons just not going to happen and the peak likely already has. Again just my opinion.
Daily volume lately has been over 70% shorts.

So, i'm just getting back into some trading. I used to have e-trade for some capstone and G.E. stock. Looking for an app or prog with no penalties for selling. I really liked the e-trade app. Anything else I should be looking at?

Haha reminds me of someone in this thread who recommended Compass, a real estate firm with amazing reputation which had an IPO. I had just opened my Roth IRA play account, did a little google and bought in on a dip. Quickest money I ever lost lol. Bought shares at around $20.65 and when it slid to $17.50 with no end in site I finally did due diligence and saw their software claims were smoke and mirrors so I sold it. It’s now at $13.75. The only thing I like to ride to the bottom is a roller coaster. :D
So now I’m ridin’ dirty with Ford shares.
