    trailer brake controller
I have what looks like a mini brake controller under the dash by the air reset on the tires. If anyone know would you let me know if this is a brake controller. I went inside the panel where all the wires are and the brake controller connection was not available, so I assumed this was a controller.

That looks like part of some aftermarket alarm/immobilizer system not a trailer brake control.
Best I can tell the connector to add a trailer brake controller is behind the left kick panel, you will need the appropriate adapter harness and a compatible trailer brake controller.
If your truck is not equipped with a tow package and/or 7 way trailer plug the connector may not be there, in which case you would have to run your own wiring or have a shop install.

I agree. Looks like the KARR System a lot of the dealerships are pushing.

Did you buy the truck used?
