Tie Downs?

Looking for the best way to strap in my FZ07.

 

Tie it down.

 

I use yarn.

 

Get some decent quality tie downs (if you happen to be in the central Texas area I've got a bunch you can have), 4 points of contact, and compress/load the suspension enough so it's not bouncing around back there every pothole or speedbump you go over.

Does your truck have the factory toe downs at the rear of the bed secured with the bed bolts? You can get more of those and install under the bed bolts at the front of bed. I have no idea what these are rated to but think they would do the job. pt27835054 - Tie Down Anchor - 2010-2021 Toyota Tacoma | nashuatoyota (toyotaofnashua.com) I would not use the plate.

If you get it make sure you get the one with the right size for your handlebars.

I don't have personal experience with it and used to use ratchet straps. You can probably use other tie downs at similar points or same principle.

But I think these might be easier and faster to use. If I ever got a bike again I'd probably get these too.

This really is the key, but it only works if you wear cargo shorts and crocs. (BTW, I am wearing cargo shorts right now and was wearing crocs about a hour ago)

Don't leave them attached all the time though. The UV really breaks the elastic down. My last one lasted for ~2 years when left in the bed 24/7/365.

 

And then when the cargo spills out when merging onto the freeway make sure to stand there on the fog line slackjawed and flabbergasted at how the load came out.
