Hey fellow Tacoma owners, been lurking the forums for a couple years and recently purchased my first Tacoma, went on a Costco run and returned to some front end bumper damage...

I guess parking further away didn't make a difference.

Later down the line I do plan on building it up to a rig for some off grid camping, nothing too serious on the OFF ROAD side.

Damage is very minimal, but the 2 Upper Edge damage marks are deep into the bumper.

    Wondering what my options are:
    • Fill in the deep body damage with Bondo and get it resprayed?
    • Purchase a Steel Bumper? - Depending on the price, I'd go this route -
    • I love the look of those Hybrid Bumpers but the damage is a little higher than what it'll cover.
    • Wait for someone who has a Barcelona Red Metallic Tacoma and plans on replacing the bumper?
    • Leave it be XD
I would be totally okay with some type of Trim that would cover up the Damage until I purchase a Steel Bumper, I did some research and found the Air Design Front Bumper Guard
https://tinyurl.com/8ydnxdk9 but it wouldn't cover up the entire damage. If anyone has found any Hybrid Bumpers that would cover up this damage, link them below, even if I need to trim the bumper for it.

I commute with this truck 2x a month between San Francisco & Anaheim, if anyone has any estimates from similar damage, I wouldn't mind coming by.

Created the post to see if the community has had any run ins like this, and yes, a Truck is a Truck and should have some battle damage but hey... Thanks fellow Taco owners...!

Get yourself a hybrid bumper. RelationsRaceWheels sells a hybrid bumper that costs around $1,050 and weights ~89lbs which is a good deal compared to other bumpers. I think they look really good too

    Work in progress...
Get some of that NuFinish and rub out what Ya can. Then touch it up with the touch up paint. Sometimes Ya can find a chip and dent service in the area. Or you could buy a new bumper skin. I would clean and touch it up if it was me.

Leav it, if you are going to replace the bumper. Or rip that driver's side front flare off, you won't notice the bumper after that.

From the looks of it, I don't see much of that that would compound out. As others have said, you could get some touch up paint and carefully touch it up which won't look terrible( if your dealer has a repair facility you can probably get the touch up paint for free) or you could take it to a collision repair facility and have them repair it. It doesn't look deep enough to require any type of filler. Just heavy sanding and primer. Can't really give you an estimate as I don't have an idea of what labor rates are in Cali. Personally, if I were planning on adding on an aftermarket bumper later I'd just touch it up. It will look fine.
