What temperature do you usually do this service at. Ex. Do you drain at the temp of truck based on the outside temperature, or do you start.truck and let it get warmer. Tia

I usually drain the old fluid into a measuring pitcher so I know exactly how much came out. Then I put the same exact amount in.

    None... yet.
The key there is knowing that you had the correct amount in to start with. Pretty sure someone posted the exact amount you should have come out when the fluid gets to the correct temp (assuming you are on a level surface), in the Drain/Fill instruction thread...

Edit: Also good to know is the ambient temperature can make a HUGE difference in how quickly the ATF gets up to the correct range. Hot summer day might take only 5-10 minutes. Cold AF winter eve as your laying on your cement garage floor? 27 minutes exactly!

Thanks guy's I usually do the same and measure what comes out which is usually 3.5 quarts. But I realized I was warmer the trans up a little for better flow and started to get paranoid about the expansion of heated trans fluid. Since I've been doing this procedure may trans has run fantastic so no complaints here just got anxious. I'm keeping this for.as long as possible the trucks has been very good to me.

Yeah, I'm pretty consistent getting 3.5 quarts coming out as well.

Getting ready to do a AT service myself and am still undecided as to do the drain and fills or the other method of unhooking return tube and pumping out fluid then refilling.

Theres a good vid of the flush. Looks a little time consuming but would rather get all of the old fluid out in one day as opposed to drain and fills.
