Local Dealer is offering me 38K for my 2020 TRD OFF-Road. Is that good?

Uh I sold my 2019 mostly stock TRDOR for a little over $40k earlier this year. Made about $5k on the deal. I sold private party - dealing with the bank wasn’t bad. Definitely worth it for the extra cash.

With that said, dealer is trying to rip you off. Especially if you have a 2020

 

What would be a good place to sell you think? I mean insurance wont give you top dollar either.

 

Not sure , when I got mine last year it wasnt on the lot either. Small deposit and a week later it was mine.

 

This is going to sound funny, but aside from the usual CL, FB Marketplace and the sale forums on this website, try putting a “for sale” sign in the window and just leaving it up as you drive around. People will call you in droves lol

 

Get top dollar , and 38k isn’t top dollar. Tacoma’s are selling for insane prices right now.

Yes I want top dollar but im not trying to scalp. I'll let it go to someone that will really enjoy it for reasonable price

 

No prob. An older neighbor down the street from me ended up buying mine. His old 1988 Toyota had just crapped out and he was sick of dealing with dealerships. He happily paid the asking price. Worked out great for everyone

 

Dude one of those broke dicks is looking for what you've got and is ready to compensate you a little for the mods. No need to take a bath on everything you've put into it

You can also try calling or emailing out of state dealerships. The dealership here is dying for Tundras and Tacoma’s. My 19 Pro is worth $50k around here. I see OR models going for low 40’s. I paid 42.8k when it was new.

If they offered 38k they'll probably list it for 43-45k. Dealer's not going to pay full retail and then list for full retail. They'll probably sell it in less than a week in this market too.

 

I too hate the tire kickers and looky-loos. The last vehicle I sold online and did not list a phone number in the ad (only email.) Within the ad I asked them to write a thoughtful question about the vehicle to help me weed out spammers. After 3 days I sifted through the responses and selected 2 that communicated in full sentences and sounded motivated. The first couple that saw it bought it on the spot.

Since you don't own it outright what about eBay as they offer escrow and buyer protection services.

 

I'd remove and sell the aftermarket stuff. I'd find someone with a silver Taco who wants to buy your front bumper and trade parts. Find someone who will trade you for the factory wheels plus cash. No need to take a loss whatsoever.
