This will be my next purchase for my truck (hoping for a labor day/birthday sale:wave::wave:@upTOPoverland :boink:)....anyhow, I've watched a bunch of install videos amd keep seeing a punch being used for the weatherstripping the exact diameter of the spacers. Does this come with the kit? If not, what is it so I can source one. Makes the install look so clean.

Probably not, but that was in the past, so don't quote me on that.

This is what I used and it worked great. Went through the rubber and the metal with one good hit from a hammer.

Absolutely. I may be wrong but I think this is what was recommended by @upTOPoverland. I had the 2nd gen rack so not sure if anything has changed as far as diameter since 2019.

Question for the team, or even UpTop. Do you recommend, maybe annually, removing the rack and re-siliconing the mounting holes? Just curious. I'm in Florida with the super heat, humidity, salty air, etc. I've only had my rack on a couple months, so no concern now. just curious what you guys thought. And I get it, some of you dont use silicone. I did, it works, i'm good with it. Just wanted to see what everyone's leak prevention plan is down the road.

I sealed mine up with rtv gasket maker from the beginning, and have had no issues since.

Given your location, I would put some no-ox / anti seize on the threads for the bolts on the roof then seal onto of them to ensure you don't run into issues. Again my .02 as I am sure others have other ideas.

Wasn’t somebody complaining about lead times? I placed this order on Thursday and the package arrived Saturday am. Pretty damn impressive considering it arrived USPS.A4796C70-6E90-40B1-9BBE-8730C85D62AE.jpg

Anyone know how much the Alpha roof rack and Alpha EX cap rack weigh, respectively?

I'm looking to put them on a 3rd gen double cab long bed = need to get an appropriate leaf spring pack.

    Thanks

Not enough weight to justify a leaf pack, unless you plan to add a good bit more than the rack.

I’m not really sure where to ask this. This seems appropriate but might not be. Does anyone put kayak racks on these?

Why not? You can put whatever you want on it, it’s your rack. The design is very versatile with the T-slot bar system, so with a little creativity you could get almost anything mounted on it.

Even like a giant Stay Puft Marshmallow Man? Cause I would do that. At least once per year.

No shit it would be my rack. I’m looking for ideas as to what others have done. Searching doesn’t yield many results. I’m not seeing a lot of options that easily lend themselves to the t-slot system

I know that I’ve seen multiple kayak setups in this thread. Unfortunately ya probably have to sift through this whole thread.

And… shout out to my upstate Nys brother!
