Hello all ! I'm new to Tacoma World, I own a 2018 Tacoma TRD Pro and love it !
I have a lift related question and thought I'd defer to the group. I have odd suspension behavior after a 2" lift. Here's whats going on... after I installed the 2" lift all looked and worked great, so I thought, later I discovered the rear shocks tend to "thud" when I hit a bump at any speed above 20mph, A tech told me it's the Fox shocks hitting its dampening point, that the lift hyper extends the shock and creates a "dampening void", basically an air gap that feels like I'm bottoming out when it hits engagement point. Has anybody experience this and are shock extensions recomended ?

    Looking forward to some wisdom.

    Thanks, John.

Welcome to TW. It sounds like the rear shocks are topping out, meaning hitting full extension. It's happening on the back end of the bump as your shocks are decompressing after compressing for the bump. I'm guessing you have a lift block in the rear?

Yes, I have a 2" lift block in rear, though this symptom is happening upon compression, If I hit a small rut or transition that is greater than 5" the back end feels like it's bottoming out... "hard bang" sort of feeling. Front suspension soaks it right up like I would expect fox shocks to react. what do you think ? do need longer shocks or stiffer leafs ?

Welcome to TW! I have a 4 inch D/B lift on my truck which consists of a 4 inch spacer in the front and a 2 inch block in the back. I have Fox 2.0 extended shocks on the back and have had no issues.
