Long overdue! Old exhaust was installed by a hack. Wish I knew who, or what shop did it, so I could slap them. Or at least direct them towards some great welding resources... they dun f’ed it up.

too bad no one will see the new system when I fab it up... but I’ll know it’s there.

Just had a guy on a Harley cut me off from the break down lane. And motorcyclists complain they don't feel safe in traffic

Don't get me started on loud bikes. There are many things I dislike, threshold of pain loud bikes driven at WOT 90% of the time rank well up there. There’s a guy that lives on my street I resist the urge to throw a pipe wrench at every time he passes my house.

One more reason I have my dash cam - front and rear facing. Have gotten a lot of good stuff around town that I pull and put on the towns Facebook page. Everyone around here is so grumpy about them putting in speed and red light cameras like for f sake don’t give them a reason to day after day and they won’t.

    it’s real bad down here.

I grew up at the beach so loud bikes don’t bother me I’m just used to it.

the one that gets me and sorry riders - if drivers won’t see your low beam light, they also won’t see your high beams. All you’re doing is blinding everyone and not making yourself safer.

I want a bike but constantly stop myself. I wouldn’t trust myself - I know what I do on a bicycle and when I had even jus the sport trim stock Mazda 3. Combining those is not a good idea. But the one thing I cannot get on board with - is that, the teaching of riders to always leave your high beams on so drivers will see you. My stance is that if they ignore your low beam they’ll ignore your high beams. And with modern lights especially, all you’re doing is blinding me and other drivers and making it more dangerous for you and everyone else around you.

I am in full support of lane splitting though.

lol. I grew up in southern NH and Maine. I always feel like I’m being dramatic about the bad drivers of RI but then people move for work from all over the country and they’re like nope. No it’s bad here I don’t understand it.

I’ve driven cross country - through LA rush hour. That was busy but whatever. Nothing unexpected, just traffic. Around here you just don’t expect the shenanigans which is what gets you.

Back in June, I almost bought it on 95 in Bilgeport.
    4 in the morning WTF!
    Had the FJ that day.
Note Evergreen truck in left lane as well.
Thought he made contact he was that close.

All the time he's singing on the CB.

I'll never forget almost killing someone on a bike on 24 many years ago, asshole had to be going over 100 and I was changing lanes with signal/head check/etc. Asshole cut right over and then had the balls to flip me off.

He must be related to the bellend with the loud exhaust that lives on my street, though I think it's a car..pretty sure it's the neighbor a couple of doors up. Fkn fart can POS woke me up at 6AM the other day.

    Good comment @bucktales

What cams are you guys running? THinking I might break down and buy one..def want front/rear. Do some come with an actual screen too?

I haven’t been in the market for about 5 years so, I’m sure things have changed. I know there are cameras now that have Bluetooth and whatnot so you can connect to your phone and pull clips instead of pulling the SD card like I do. Oodles of fancy shit out there now.

I have the Rexing V1R. Might be the V1P I can’t remember which - the one with a rear view setup. Mine has an actual screen I can pull and watch on if I wanted to. Haven’t used it before other than setup. Mine is/was about 100$ pretty good quality.

the short of it is that it doesn’t need to be Uber HD. 99.99999% of the time you don’t need a license plate number. And the times that you do, it’s a 50/50 shot you get it anyway. Ideally what you want is decent enough quality to see things and demonstrate that YOU did not break any laws or drive erratically.

Mine is not gps enabled so it doesn’t show my speed.

I’ve never needed to pull footage for insurance or legal reasons. Just a bunch of shenanigans driving thus far.

    I have 3 Transcend DP-100s.
They are all 4-5 years old and have worked well for us. Forward only, nothing fancy. I'm sure there are better ones now, but these work.

Only problem was the setting for crashes and goes to auto save. It would trigger it when you hit a bump in the road hard. So I just turned the setting off.

I watch the dash cam videos on YouTube. The ThinkWare cameras seem to have good quality picture.

I'm just thinking front and rear, ideally a small screen. Don't need a bunch of fancy shit. I have some gift card points to redeem at work and thinking Amazon or Crutchfield (Crutchfield would be better if the prices are comparable)

I've been considering a dash cam recently because since the pandemic started, people's ability to drive seems to have declined rapidly.
