Howdy all, MD Tacoma guy here, looking to do some off-roading and camping or overlanding. I'm looking to do something in West Virginia, but not a lot of the sites I'm looking at are very informative. I looked at Chaos offroad park, for example, because they had primitive camping which I like, but their website is geared more towards goods, services, and events; I can't really find out anything about their trails.

Anyone in the area have recommendations?

Canaan loop is pretty fun and there's plenty of camping available. I did a weekend camping trip through that area between Canaan loop and Red Creek campground (Dolly Sod's Wilderness). Went in the south side and camped part way through - there are lots of hiking trails. Headed on through and got to the trail part at which point we ditched my buddy's Accord and proceeded through a fun 3mi stretch of rougher trail with a few little fords. There was also a cool overlook to hike to just after the trail where the hard surface starts. Dolly Sod's is nice - nothing for off-roading but nice mountain roads to get there and the area is great for camping/hiking.

If you come across anything else good, post it. I'm looking for trips myself.
