Most polishes/compounds will make it less noticeable. Think of that scratch as being dry creating the white look, when you apply polish/compound it will "re"moisturize it, causing it to be less noticable.... If that makes sense.
Rubbing compound is more aggressive and is normally used as the first step in polishing, then there's polishes etc... Without getting into all the others... They do mix things, there's so many products now it's ridic.

Just go to your local auto store, pick up some polishing compound.. And a couple of polishing hand pads, along with micro fiber towels....

Apply in a circular motion, hit it from all angles, clockwise and counter etc etc. Rub it out, like you've never rubbed it before.

The easiest and most accurate way to know, just whip into a reputable body shop and ask them what they'd charge to buff it out (if it can be).... And or paint.

You don't wanna use that on that scratch.. All those little flakes in the touch up paint, will be laying all sorts of ways catching light from all angles and will cause it to stick out in a different way... Besides, it's not deep into bare metal , primer or anything.

You'll be better off trying the polishing like mentioned above.

Yeah, I've found that I don't trust a lot of these Nurse chicks (that or the ones going to school to be one)... Not to mention all the BS that goes on at hospitals with them and Dr's.
