I notice you say "night" when flying the balloon, is that evening or full dark?
Seems a balloon in full dark would be beautiful, exhilarating -- and terrifying all at the same time.

Evening. We have to be down before dark. Typically launch somewhere around an hour and a half before sunset and within and hour after sunrise when the winds are calmest.

Good morning fellow Pennsyltuckyvanians!!

Balloon flight was weathered out last night - thunderstorms all around us...no rain for us, though. We have a flight tonight....maybe.

Hornets are the ones that nest underground...and they can be very aggressive. Most likely a bear dug up the nests. We had one bust into our apiary a few years ago and pretty much wipe out 6 hives. I'm all about saving bees.....hornets and wasps not so much.

Good morning all! No rain at my house last night but a coworker from about 10 miles away from me said he had over 1.5" in his rain gauge.

Not sure which interstate I hate more I-81 or I-95. Absolutely brutal on a motorcycle.

Good morning PA! Hope everyone is doing well this week. Got about 4 heat advisories on my phone this morning, so be safe out there and drink plenty of water if you're outside!

I got my heavy lifting done first thing. Gutted what was left of the old bathroom off the back of the house to make a new mudroom/ entry off the patio and had about a dozen bags of plaster and other debris to take to the dump. Ended up being about 700lbs. For those who are curious, my gen 2 access cab weighed in at 4520 after the bed was empty (in my defense I do have a C4 front bumper with a winch and steel tailgate plates)

 

Good morning/afternoon from sunny Bahrain. Fortunately it’s cooling off a bit now, the heat index was 129 a few hours ago. Feels like you’re walking in a sauna…

 

I forgot about 95. Going from north to south Philly on 95 is brutal... Also 76 in Valley Forge can be an absolute nightmare. Honorable mention 476 in the same area.

So I’m confused, is Street Road a street or a road?
To be fair, there was a road near where I grew up that was named “The road”.

I remember dad telling me a story from when he was a state trooper of a who’s on first style conversation where dispatch requests his location and he responded that he was currently on The Road.

 

Obviously, just poking a little fun. It just amazes me with all of the words at our disposal, people come up with such unoriginal names for things.
