    Thanks!
I just read that the T4 is the correct size.
What colour did you go with? I'm not sure if I should go bright white, yellow white, or amber/yellow.

    Basic question…..
What made you change them…..preventive, or noise

Diff lock hadn't been working since last fall, took the actuator off and found the problem. Got a new one installed.

Also installed sway bar sliding disconnects. These things are pretty great so far! The only complaint I have about them is the bar with the pin rotates, so it makes putting the pins back in a bit more of a nusens than it needs to be. Either way thanks @ZebraScissors

Got the transmission flushed at a local transmission shop (Hillsdale Transmission, San Mateo, CA). Went in and talked to the owner beforehand and he was very knowledgeable about the A750F and like @gearcruncher he's a proponent of the LubeGard ATF additive which I had them put in with the new fluid. His office also looks like a place that American Pickers would like visiting.

So that was the last maintenance item I had on my longish list since buying the truck. I kind of did one of those satisfied sighs, thinking "Yeah, all done for a while." Then last night when I took the truck out to run an errand, I realized the lights for the climate controls were burned out. DOH! Thinking back over the last few weeks, I hadn't really driven it at night so I'm not surprised I missed that. Oh well, got the bulbs added to an order I had going so those will be dealt with next weekend. Then I'll REALLY be done.

Wait, why are you laughing?

It was both. Since before I bought my Taco, I've been reading a lot on TW and I had a good sense of things that I should check out on a 10-yr old truck. It was super easy to release the tension on the belt and spin the pulleys enough to determine if they spun to freely with that sound I remember from skates with metal wheels. Two of them were like that, one clearly worse than the other. One was still just fine, and the bearing for the tensioner was somewhere in between (probably could have gone another 20K). I wasn't going to muck around with this and just do the two since they are so easy to replace; they lasted 10 years so I figure I'll likely never need to do it again.

Also checked the alternator for bearing noise while I was at it, but it seems totally fine. Happy enough about that, it would have added a couple of hours to the job if I'd needed to swap it out (not to mention the additional cost).

I wanted to change the background color in my 2012 but I guess that is when they went to soldered led bulbs. No T4's in this one.

Bought this 2012 for under $14.5 a few weeks ago. Been doing a lot of maintenance catch-up and a few basic mods. After 5 weeks I figured I would finally do a Turtle Wax Ceramic wash and wax just to see if there was any shine left in the paint. Looks great but now I really need to start polishing out the scratches. Also need to get some 303 or something to restore the exterior black plastics. Still very happy with the truck.

Weathertech floor liners moded to hold OEM floor mats, weathertech vent visors, Toyota bed mat, LEER 100XL cap, hood gasket mod to stop whistling.
The last thing I did with mine was take it to the dealer and show them how my truck looks like shit because all of the super white is faded, flat, and peeling!

2014 DCLB, 37,000 miles...used to be super white, now its flat white and primer showing through.

Ceramic coating works good for turning plastic back to black and it last longer than the other stuff that just ends up washing off in a few weeks.

140k miles but runs, shifts and drives like it has 70k miles. Just had to do a lot of delayed maintenance to it but no repairs. Rides as solid as the 2016 I just sold with 25k miles. Just has some scratches I need to deal with. Guy had a 50 mile work commute so not hard miles. He only fixed things when they needed fixing. Having said that all the fluids I replaced were very clean although aged. It still had the original front brake pads on it. When I see these 4.0's hitting 200k plus miles with no major issues, on FJ's, Tacoma's and 4runner's, I have confidence in one with 140k miles. Dealers wanted $18k or more for the same truck. Frame is extremely clean.
